A few weeks ago, I wrote an article here about our fundamental quality as creatures of habit. In a short addendum, I’d like to mention my own experience with regards to changing habits.
Just a month or so ago, I watched a short video about squatting, but not the kind you would typically do in abandoned homes. The video, being a product of our culture, of course wanted to sell me an utterly useless plastic product, but the research cited was rather interesting. In fact, it triggered me to try it out and – I immediately got used to it. It became a habit. If we can create new small habits that easily, I thought, couldn’t we change some more habits, and if they all add up we suddenly find ourselves in a different, more beautiful world?
I’m sure there are countless other examples of ways to change our habits that actually work.
