Spring Cleaning this Blog

There is a time for everything. Today I decided to upgrade the looks of the website you are now looking at because I was bored of the old look and its glitches. Manually designing a website is a time sink, but it has a soothing effect. Staring at pixels as if they, and not the much older and much more efficacious technology of writing that they embody, are the source of meaning, can be strangely comforting.

So I changed out fonts, edited margins, shadows, animations, widgets, menus, textures and patterns, learning some new things about SVG, WordPress, jQuery in the process, which I may share on this sister site, if it proves useful.

Working on creating a beautiful canvas for writing can make us forget that canvases are empty. It can numb us for the existential growing pains that befall all of us from time to time.

I was amazed by the amount of things there is to learn about the Internet. If there is one 21st-century skill, it is the ability to avoid being overwhelmed. Every now and then, I indulge and learn a few things about the latest technology of the Web, but soon enough, I get bored and happily return to poetry and writing (but it’s nice that I can at least control the way it is presented here).

Poetry is spelling out our respect for the human imagination.

Dear reader, if you have some constructive feedback for this blog, don’t hesitate to leave a message. And if you want your own blog to look somewhat similar, I’m willing to help.

If I’m not writing. Which is what I’ll do next, after listening to my theme song. Stay tuned…
