infinite responsibility

To block the thought of our finite existence and the fear of death, we’ve invented the idea of infinite growth and progress, and materialized it as the celebration of greed (amassing wealth as a purpose in itself). What if we take a step back and pretend we have infinite responsibility for the planet, for future generations, for other species, for intelligent life in the universe? What if we make the projections of infinity, that our species cannot avoid making, there, in the realm of responsibility? What if “we” all (each individual, for there is no “we”) re-imagine the world as a place that is entirely enlightened by our responsibility?
